Have You Been Told You Are "Uninsurable"?
Not True!
Now, from the traditional Health Care Policy standpoint you probably aren't "insurable" but fortunately there are a few companies that are helping out with a
Guarantee Issue Policy.
How does this work and How much does it cost? Good question and here are your answers:
First lets tackle the question of why some can't get a traditional/standard Health care policy. There are numerous factors involved when the underwriting department begins to look at your medical history and their "exposure" to future claims. I know, it doesn't seem fair (and I agree with you); however, insurance companies are a FOR Profit business like other businesses so they must qualify their financial "exposure".Here is a basic list of immediate denials when it comes to qualifying for a standard/traditional health policy. See if you fit into one of these categories before you begin the process of submitting an application. Regardless of your situation, no one likes to hear the words "denied". Do your homework ahead of time and save yourself the anguish and then read on to find out how to get a guarantee issue product if you fit into one of these categories.
Declined Conditions
Individuals with the following condition(s) are considered to be a substandard risk, and will result in a declination of coverage. This is not an all-inclusive list. Addison Disease AIDS or AIDS Related Complex Alcohol Abuse / Dependency Alzheimer’s Syndrome Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS –Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Aneurysm Angina Pectoris Angioplasty Ankylosing spondylitis Aortic Disorders Arteriosclerosis Arthrosclerosis Auto Immune Disorders Autism Berger’s Disease Bipolar Disorder Bulimia (Bulemia) Cancer – malignant tumors Cardiac Pacemaker Cardiomyopathy (myocardiopathy) Carotid Artery Disease Cerebral Palsy Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) Cerebrovascular Disease Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Cirrhosis Colitis (Ulcerative) Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Connective Tissue Disorder Coronary Angioplasty Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) Coronary Thrombosis Coronary Heart Failure Crohn’s Disease Cushing’s Syndrome Cystic Fibrosis Cystic Kidney Disease Dementia Diabetes Mellitus Down’s Syndrome Drug (Narcotic) Use within 10 yrs Emphysema Epstein-Barr Fabry’s Disease Fatty Liver Fibromyalgia Gastric Resection/Bypass Heart Attack – Myocardial Infarction Heart Enlargement /hypertrophy /cardiomegaly Heart or Lung Transplant Hemiplegia Hemophilia Hepatitis B, C, E or chronic Hepatomegaly (Enlarged Liver) HIV positive Hodgkin’s Disease Hydocephalus/Shunt Hyperparathyroidism Hypersplenism Hysteria Ischemic Heart Disease Kidney Transplant or Failure Leukemia Liver Disease or Transplant Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS) Lupus Erythematosus Lymphoma Major Depressive Disorder Manic Depressive Disorder Medullary Cystic Kidney Mental Retardation (Severe, seizure, unstable) Mitral Insufficiency Mitral Stenosis Mutliple Myeloma Multiple Sclerosis Muscular Atrophy Muscular Dystrophy Myocardial Infarction (MI) Myocardial Ischemia Nephritis (Chronic)Organ Transplant (Kidney, Liver, etc) Pacemaker Parkinson’s Disease Paralysis or Paraplegia Pregnancy or expecting parent Polycystic Kidney Psoriatic Arthritis Pulmonary embolism/thrombosis/heart disease Quadraplegia Renal Failure Rheumatoid Arthritis Sarcoma Schizophrenia Sickle Cell Disease Spina Bifida Stroke Syphilis Suicide attempt/ideation Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) Transsexualism Tricuspid StenosisUlcerative Colitis Valve replacement Vascular Hemophilia Wilson’s Disease
Here's another kicker with regard to standard Health policies. Did you know that certain occupations are also exempt from standard/traditional health coverage? Here is a list of those:
Occupation and Avocation Considerations.
Individuals with a particular occupation/avocation(s) or participation in a certain industry may not be considered for coverage. Consideration may vary by state, depending on a particular state’s requirement. The following is ageneral, but not a complete list of occupations/avocations.
Adult Entertainers Air Traffic Controllers Armed Forces (Military) personnel Asbestos or Chemical workers Bar/Tavern Owners Boxer or Prize Fighters Bungee Jumping Circus or Carnival Workers Commercial Fishermen Demolition Workers Explosive or Pyrotechnic Workers Government or Municipal Workers High Risk Aviation ex.:Test Pilot, Aerial Photographer, Hot Air Balloon, or Crop Duster Hang Gliding / Ultralight Jockey or Horse Trainers Marital Arts (Instructor or Professional) Migrant or Missionary Workers Miners, Oil or Natural Gas Workers Professional or Semi-Pro Rodeo Participants Professional or Semi-Pro Athletes Rock /Mountain Climbing Structural Steel Workers Stunt men or women Toxic Material or Chemical Workers Sky diving / Parachuting Vehicle racing (land or water) Unemployed due to Disability Xtreme sports
Other Occupations or Avocations may deemed to be hazardous or ineligible to be considered for coverage. Inaddition, individuals with felony conviction/indictments, or criminal record may not be considered for coverage.
Now For The Good News!

You Can Get Some Help And Here's How..................
You have a couple of choices.
One option is the
Texas Risk Pool
and your other option is to purchase a
Guarantee Issue Policy.
Each one has its pros and cons so lets break those down.
The
Texas Risk Pool
is available to anyone who cannot acquire full medical benefits on their own. The main drawback to going this route is that it can be quite expensive. The good news is that unlike other policies, the state is allowing you to sign up with a medical history that would be denied under normal underwriting guidelines.Your other option is to participate in a Guarantee issue policy that can give you some type of assistance with regard to your medical needs. However, Please take note of the following:THIS IS NOT BASIC HEALTH INSURANCE. THIS OFFER INCLUDES DISCOUNTS AND/OR SERVICES PLUS ADDED LIMITED BENEFIT INDEMNITY INSURANCE. NONE OF THESE, INDIVIDUALLY OR IN COMBINATION ARE A SUBSTITUTE FOR BASIC HEALTH COVERAGE, MAJOR MEDICAL INSURANCE OR ANY OTHER MEDICAL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT INSURANCE PLAN.
